Unrelenting Feelings (Pickleville #8) Excerpt #2

Coming tomorrow, September 15th! to http://www.extasybooks.com/

What happens when the love of your life comes walking into a party?

Robyn Heath has made a pretty good life for himself away from Pickleville. He loves his job as a paramedic, has a best friend who he adores who also happens to be his partner at work, and he even gets laid every once in a while. Life couldn’t be better. Until the man who broke his heart comes back into town.
Caden Flynn has been gone for a long time. Five years fighting for his country has taken its toll and changed him in some fundamental ways. One thing he wants more than anything is to right the wrongs he’s caused Robyn. Robyn proves to have a very stubborn heart.

Excerpt
Caden was immensely aware of Robyn on the dance floor with some other guy. He wanted to rip the head off of the guy who had his hands on Robyn’s waist. Caden could feel himself get more and more upset each time the guy’s hips rocked against Robyn’s.
Caden took a sip of his beer and watched as the guys hand latched on to Robyn’s. Robyn tried to pull his hand away, but the guy whispered something in his ear. Robyn shook his head. When the guy still wouldn’t let go, Caden set his beer bottle down on the little table he’d been standing near and walked across the room.
He wrapped an arm around Robyn’s waist. Robyn stiffened up for a few minutes, but he relaxed his body when he heard Caden’s voice. “I believe he told you no.”
The guy released Robyn instantly and moved away. “Whatever. Another piece of ass right over there.”
Caden grabbed the man by the shirt with his other hand, even though his fucking arm hurt to do it because it was his bad arm and he had started those exercises yesterday, just like Robyn had told him to, so he was a bit sore.
“No means no, asshole. Remember that if you want all your fucking teeth.” Caden let him go and watched the man stumble around before getting his ass away from them.
Caden let Robyn go then, once he knew he was safe. Robyn turned and looked at him. “Are you all right, Robby?” Caden asked, leaning in so Robyn could hear him over the pounding base of the music.
“Yes. I’m fine. I could have handled that on my own. I don’t need a savior.” Robyn scowled up at him, his hands on his hips.
“I’m sure you didn’t,” Caden said with some doubt in his voice.
“What? I was getting ready to totally kick that dude in the balls, and then you came along like fucking Superman and ruined the whole experience of making that asshat sorry he ever touched me.” Robyn was so sexy with that indignant look on his face and the sweat that made that gold shirt cling to him in all the right places. Where his sports jacket had gone was anyone’s guess at this point, but Caden was very glad he’d lost it.
“Sorry. How can I make it up to you?” Caden smiled.

“Well, since my dance partner turned into Ted Bundy, I think I’m ready for a break. You can buy me a beer,” Robyn said and started for the bar across the room.
