Dakota held out a hand to Jackson, silently inviting him to come in for a hug. Jackson took his hand and Dakota wrapped it around his waist, holding it there with his hand on top of Jackson's for several seconds, before he took it away and began petting the horse again. Lucy was sleeping at his feet. Jackson settled in behind him and Dakota put his head on Jackson's shoulder.
Dakota wasn't sure when he started craving Jackson's touch but sometime after that first date he started to actively seek Jackson out. Even just a touch of his hand was enough. It scared the crap out of him, and he wanted to roll in the sensation all at the same time.
"Her new owners should be here any minute," Jackson said softly.
"If I would have known that you liked her so well, I wouldn't have sold her," Jackson said.
Dakota stopped petting the horse and turned around in Jackson's arms. He smiled and said, "You'll lose a lot of money and have a lot of horses if you keep all of the ones that I get attached too."
"Well, I have a little secret."
"I have four mares that are set to have babies in the next couple months," Jackson said, running a finger down Dakota's cheek and along his jaw line.
Dakota's heart melted just knowing there was going to be babies on the farm. And Jackson's horses were bred carefully so that he could train them for certain things. Dakota's arms came up around Jackson, pulling him even closer. He lifted up, compensating for their height difference. He was inches from Jackson's lips. He wanted this man in a way he had never wanted anyone else before.
He stared for long seconds at those full lips that made Dakota's blood run hot before finally kissing them. He intended for it just to be a press of lips and nothing more, but after he got started, he couldn't seem to stop. Jackson's hand came up to grip the nape of his neck, not demanding but still holding him firm.
