Persistent Love (Lakehouse Security #5) Excerpt 2

Here's another look at the latest installment in the Lakehouse Security series. Persistent Love is book 5 and it comes out tomorrow, September 1st! You can get it exclusively at eXtasy Books

Justin reached around him and pressed the call button for the nurse. Aiden rolled his eyes. Neither said anything for long minutes. The tension in the room built up until it was the monster in the corner. Like the black smoke of the demons he was watching on the television.
The nurse walked into the room. “He’s in pain,” Justin said sternly.
“Let me just see what the doctor says he can take for pain.”
“I said I was fine,” Aiden said and refused to look at Justin. He turned to the nurse. “It’s not as bad as it was. I don’t want anything.”
She smiled at him. “Okay, Mr. Newell, but if you change your mind. I’ll be happy to help you.” She just about fluttered her lashes at him.
He tried to be pleasant, but just couldn’t pull it off completely, not with his head still hurting and his emotion…

#MySexySaturday - Sexy Has It

This weeks theme for #MSS107 is Sexy Has It. Greg and Brian from The Sum of Everything (Pickleville #2) definitely have the sexy. A lot of Sexy. Here's a Sexy excerpt to prove it.
They say opposites attract but can they make love last?

Bronwyn's WIP Friday

Its nearly time for my next book to be released so I thought I’d give you an excerpt from book 2
Ben’s Wolf Surprise is book 1 in the Second Pack of Cameron series, it’s a paranormal m-preg, and will be released on the 1st of September.

This excerpt I’m showing you is from book 2 Tentative Steps forward (please remember it’s still in first drafts and therefore not edited in any way)
Womp womp womp womp. Holy shit. Womp womp womp womp. Ben held his breath, then realised it probably wasn’t a good idea since he had a baby inside him. Living, growing. Heartbeat. A heartbeat. Ben’s chest hurt, heaved as he looked at the machine where the sound was coming from. Womp womp womp. Muffled but in turn. Ben wanted to believe the sound wasn’t coming from inside him, but at this point there wasn’t any denying it. Was he still denying this pregnancy thing? Probably, it wasn’t like he’d ever thought he’d be pregnant. But shit man, there was a heartbeat coming out of his belly. A heartbeat. Holy shit. Shad …

Persistent Love (Lakehouse Security #5) Excerpt

Coming September 1st! to Extasy Books

It was just getting on to evening and this highway was fairly deserted, although not deserted enough to land the helicopter though. They’d have to wait for a more secluded area for that. Now that Stone was all set to block the van he was just waiting for the timing to be right. Something buzzed in Justin’s ear and Danny’s voice came through the communication device. “Aiden’s got a victim with him.” Danny must have switched over the feed. “How is he?” “Well, he told me to tell you to fuck off so I’d say he’s just fine,” Danny said. Justin smiled. “That’s about what I expected.” “Yeah, me too. I’m out.” “Copy that.” It was only then that he heard someone breathing heavily in his ear and realized Danny connected them all together. Justin held his breath when he realized it was Aiden he was hearing. God, please let him be okay. He’d give anything if Aiden was okay. “Danny,” Aiden breathed out. “Yep.” “Tell Justin to stand down until we get to the destinat…

Crafty Tuesday - Submission the Traditional Way

So last week I talked a little bit about Traditional versus Self-Publishing. I went the traditional route, at least for now. Today I wanted to tell you about how I chose the publisher and also, how I knew what to do.

As I said before, I've been reading for most of my life. Erotic romance for at least ten years now. I know the publishers who publish the erotic romance books. I know almost all of the publishers. I have my favorites and i like the smaller presses. The smaller presses have more a family feel to them and I'm certainly more comfortable around friends and family. I picked Extasy Books because it was one of my favorites and I heard their contract was very fair. I'm pleased to say that I've had a great experience with them so far.

How did I know what to do?

On every publishers website there will be a submissions button somewhere. That is the magic button and will tell you exactly what to do, Most publishers will even tell you what kind of stories they're loo…

Persistent Love (Lakehouse Security #5)

When last we left the Newell brothers, Danny and Locke had just worked things out and decided to be a couple. Aiden, the leader of the Lakehouse and oldest Newell brother, had just been kidnapped by the bad guys. This story continues from there.

This is coming September 1st! to Extasy Books

Love refuses to leave him alone.
Aiden Newell knows he’s a coward for refusing to go home, but he doesn’t care. He won’t go back as long as Justin Pollasky is still there. If he goes back, he’ll just fall in love with the man all over again. Justin has loved him and left him the past.
Justin has been trying to get Aiden back for a year and a half, but the man refuses to see him. Every time their teams work together Aiden takes off for parts unknown. When Aiden gets kidnapped by the human traffickers they are trying to put behind bars, Justin gets a little bit crazy with worry. He just hopes he can get Aiden back in time to make things right.

#MySexySaturday - That Sexy Time of Day

This weeks theme is that sexy time of day. I picked an excerpt from Whispers of Home (Pickleville #1). The sexiest time of day for Jaron and Travis, the Main Characters in this book, is right after having an amazing day together.

BLURB All Jaron McAllister wanted to do was get out of the small town where he grew up. After being bullied all his life for being gay, that’s exactly what he does. He loses all contact with everyone in the town of Pickleville, including his emotionally distant mother and the only true friend he ever had.

When his best friend and mother of the child they share, get murdered he knows he must ask for help in the one place he thought he would never go back to. Coming back home isn’t easy and finding himself attracted to the town man-slut spells disaster. Travis Heath isn’t at all what his reputation suggests though.
EXCERPT He followed Travis to the master bedroom, sitting on the bed with his hands folded in his lap. He was suddenly nervous. Jaron wasn’t sure …

Bronwyn's WIP

WIP Friday
Hey again, this week I thought I’d give you another sample of book 2 in An Alphas World series. This is actually what’s going to be used. I have full plot and everything, yay!

Remember this excerpt is rough, still in first drafts so therefore not been edited

He just sat there. Sat there like he owned the whole fucking world. Like nothing was of his concern and everything in its place and that included Jay. Jay paced, the walls grew thick, paused as they closed in on him. Tighter and tighter until there was no air, no room, nowhere for him to stand. His feet tapped. Tapped. Tapped. And the bastard just sat there, settled, legs sprayed knees apart a bulge at the apex. Could have just been fabric. Could be man. Tap. Tap. Jay gasped, his hand ran against the soft wood of the cabin wall. Fingers scrapped as he clutched, trying to… Jay didn’t know. It was all. A pause echoed against his heart, beat up a storm. Jay swallowed hard. The ball getting clogged in his throat. A rustle. J…

What's on the Agenda

Here's what's in my future.

M/M Contemporary RomancePickleville Series

I just finished writing Carter and Seth's story. This is book 9 in the series and will almost be the last. The books title is Coming Back Home (Pickleville #9) and it comes out on October 15th. I do plan on revisiting the character is a Christmas story. I think I'll focus on Jaron and Travis, just because I miss them. Christmas with the Heath's should be fun.

Demon Elite Series

I know I've probably already told you guys this about a thousand times so your sick of me mentioning it, but the Demon Elite series is a spin-off of Lakehouse Security. The series will each feature a member of the assassin team and each book will be way more stand alone that Lakehouse Security was. The first book will be out in January. And will feature a man named Crash and Elijah from Locke's Love. Elijah is the man that was held captive in the first three books of the the Lakehouse series and then in book three Tr…

Crafty Tuesday - Submission (Traditional vs. Self-Publishing)

Okay, last time I talked about how I finished writing a book and got myself a beta reader. This time I thought I'd talk about how submitted my work to a publisher. Before I really get started talking about the two choices every author has I'd like to mention a book I read.

There's this book about being an author that I picked up before I submitted anything to anyone, Business for Authors by Joanna Penn. I'm so very glad I picked up this book. It talks a little bit about a lot of stuff that I needed to know, including contracts and stuff like that. This book is even good for those Authors who self-publish. Since I plan on doing both soon it's a good buy. I highly recommend it.

Now, for those two choice I had. Traditional publication or self-publishing. There were benefits and drawbacks to both for me.

Before I get to the fun part, I'll explain the difference between these two words. What I mean when I say traditional is submitting something to a publication hous…

#MySexySaturday - My Sexy Boyfriend

What sexier that a cowboy boyfriend? Absolutely nothing. Especially one that love horses. Places Like Home (Pickleville #7) is out today, August 15th! at Extasy Books

Dakota held out a hand to Jackson, silently inviting him to come in for a hug. Jackson took his hand and Dakota wrapped it around his waist, holding it there with his hand on top of Jackson's for several seconds, before he took it away and began petting the horse again. Lucy was sleeping at his feet. Jackson settled in behind him and Dakota put his head on Jackson's shoulder.
Dakota wasn't sure when he started craving Jackson's touch but sometime after that first date he started to actively seek Jackson out. Even just a touch of his hand was enough. It scared the crap out of him, and he wanted to roll in the sensation all at the same time.
"Her new owners should be here any minute," Jackson said softly.
"If I would have known that you liked her so well, I wouldn&#…

Bronwyn's Favorites - Paranormal Series

Book Love
So apparently, this week’s fav paranormal series was actually harder for me to choose then it should have been. I decided I’d do one of the longer series and unfortunately, I either like the series but am getting bored, or I haven’t actually caught up. Which leaves us with one series, but then it’s one of my fav’s from the author so all is good.
Supernatural Mates by Amber Kell
This is a great light series with a plot line that run through a lot of the books, meaning that you need to read the series in order to get the full impact.
I love it. It’s the series I read that truly made me fall in love with Amber Kell’s books.

What Am I Reading?

My favorite thing to read is M/M Paranormal Romance at the moment. Shifter's in particular seem to fascinate me. I especially love when they find their mate and it's instant attraction. There's nothing better for me.

One of my favorite Series in this genre and what I'm reading right now his Catherine Lievens Whitdell and Gilman series. Yes, I'm reading both series at the same time. I buy them from Extasy on or near the day they come out. Both series are so closely related that it's sort of like reading the same one.

Now, I'm not ashamed to say that I have had problems remember Characters from previous books. You know what I mean? Like when a main character from one book comes back as a secondary character in another. it's sometimes hard for me to remember the characters and who they're mated too.

I don't have this problem with Catherine Lievens books, despite the fact that I'm reading both series at the same time. That's how great and uni…

The Men of Picklville

Dakota had a normal life and was a typical farm boy. He had two parents that loved him and an older brother that he told everything too. Than one night he went out to a night club and met a guy he liked well enough to have a one night stand with, but not well enough to have it last. That man changed his life forever and not necessarily in a good one. The man ended up being a stalker and he had to leave his family. He ended up in Pickleville though. That's where the story begins.

Jackson seems to have it all. He is the son of a rich farmer. But he was largely raised by his father. He has a step mother that he has never gotten along with, but the woman takes good care of his dad so he tolerates her. We first meet him in the Whispers of Home where he's bullying Jaron McAllister, but by the end of that book Jackson's true character comes out. He's a likeable guy that gets along with everyone. He only has friends with benefits and has never really had a long …

Crafty Tuesday - I wrote a book! Now what?

That was me this time last year. I was so excited to get the novella done. It even had a title, Whispers of Home. It was as perfect as I could make it, grammatically at least. I say this last part with the knowledge that I still mix up then and than like some middle schooler. Yeah, my grammar could certainly be a lot better.

So anyway, I sat there staring at that precious document with mixed emotions. On the one hand I was so proud of myself for actually finishing it. That's the first step and sometime the hardest to make. At least for me it was. On the other hand, what if it sucked.

I had read some advice about writing somewhere that went a little something like this: Write something that doesn't suck. I don't know who it was that said this. It wasn't me. It's such simple advice, but some that is hard to achieve sometimes.

Anyway, I stared at my very first manuscript as if it were a poisonous snake about ready to strike. With fascinated horror, because what if it …

Bronwyn's WIP

WIP Friday
This is a story I’m looking forward to writing. not along because it’s something I’ve not written before, but because the prequel to this story is going to be an erotic thriller I can’t release until after this one has been published.
It’s a hunter and the hunted storyline. A cowboy turned vampire and its set…well more like a historical and yet probably more fantasy then anything, as I won’t really give it a date in history, if that makes sense.
But it’s a play on what we all thought vampire were back before they sparkled, I think is how everyone see it.
So here’s an unedited excerpt that many not ever see the inside of the book.
The night started climbing across the field as Chad tried his hardest to hurry up fixing the hole in the fence while not rushing the job, the herd were moving into this field tomorrow, and Chad had to have it all ready for them to be moved at first light. Chad new the risks of being out after dark, he wasn’t stupid, even though he was acting as suc…
