Sudden Love Excerpt

Sudden Love Coming May 1st Blurb
When Love comes suddenly, sometimes you just have to go with it.
Xander Newell isn’t the one nightstand type of guy. He wants a commitment with someone who is willing to put up with his crazy family and being away on the job sometimes. Finding someone who is willing to put up his brothers, who he lives and works with on a daily basis is hard to find. Still Xander’s not willing to compromise.
Xander gets called off bodyguard duty to investigate this religious cult that may be tied to some kidnappings of young men. He finds Aaron Keller, one of the missing young men. What he doesn’t expect is the instant attraction and longing for the man. Xander just wants to keep Aaron safe, even if that means backing off.

Xander vaguely heard Aaron eating. He felt Aaron’s slightest movements against his thighs and chest. “Oh God, this is good. I haven’t had anything this good in a long time,” Aaron said. Xander heard him. He honestly did, but he was too tired to respond. …

Bronwyn's Interlude

When Worlds Collide

Fun subject this one.
As I’m sure you are all aware I’m in the middle of writing my DRitC 2015 book, I’m done with the first draft as I start this out. Therefore, I feel it’s a waffling mess of nothing. I’ll have to get my BETAs to read it and then go through it again. Adding things I believe need to be added, but I’m not sure.
To me, this moment, is when I feel the worse about books. It’s when I want to scrap the whole thing and work on something else.
Which is where the title comes in.
I have this problem of wanted to write the complete opposite when I’m at this point. Either something I’ve already been writing or something altogether different.
I have two ideas running against each other, while my head still wants me to just finish what I’ve started. The first draft is always the hardest, hadn’t you heard.
The first idea is an epic fantasy, thanks mostly to me feeling like I’m failing while watching Thor. The thing is, I would suck at writing that. I’m not the greate…

Let me Introduce you to the Lakehouse Security Series

I want to introduce you to my brand new series called Lakehouse Security. The first book in the series will be available to you May 1, 2015. So in just a little over a week! You can get it at
So just a little bit about the series as a whole. Lakehouse Security is owned by the Newell family. It's a big military family where there are five brothers and two sisters. Three of the brother's are ex-military. One brother is still serving and then Ryan never joined, becoming a paramedic instead. However, even Ryan works for the Security company the brothers started. The series centers around one of their cases in which gay men are getting kidnapped. This is an important case because during the brothers all fall in love.
I wanted to create a series where there was more action and adventure then I'm used to writing but still tell a love story. I hope you like it.
Here's a sneak peak at Book One in the series, Sudden Love.

What I have planned for Pickleville

Get all my titles here: Extasy Books

The Pickleville Series was introduced in February with Whispers of Home, where Jaron McAllister and Travis Heath’s story were told. Jaron comes back to the town he grew up in after his friend and mother to his child is murdered. Jaron’s sons name is Bobby. He reconnects with Travis and sparks fly.
Earlier in March The Sum of Everything came out, telling Brian Stockwell and Greg Mitchell’s story came out. Brian is Jaron’s best friend since forever ago. After Jaron comes back, him and Brian hit it off, like the eight years of separation never took place. Greg is a teenager when we first meet him, but 4 years have gone by between book one and book two. By the time this book takes place Jaron’s son, Bobby, demands to be called by his middle name Carter.
Then last week, Book Three, Fixing What’s Bent, tells Kyler Huffington’s story and Andrew Martinez, who is the detective from book one. Kyler is Greg’s crazy best friend. He has a thing for Detective M…

Have you ever had a set of characters that just aren’t working for you?
I hear all the time about authors being overrun by their characters. That they start speaking to them, yapping away demanding their turn, their voice.

This doesn’t happen to me. I generally only ever have a vague idea of what my character is and why this is his story. The worse, for me, I find, is that a lot of the time my characters don’t really seem to care if their stories told or not.
This is what’s happening to me now. This horrid point that I have 3 characters I’m working with and only one of them truly wants the spotlight. Only one of them is at the point of telling his life story to the checkout chick.

Who is me, by the way, it’s how I see it. Maybe because the only job I have ever had before becoming a mum was a check out chick, but on either end, it’s how people get. They spill their guts because you asked them the most gen…

Catherine L. Byrne- Kjartan the Gentle

Kjartan the Gentle isn’t your typical M/M romance with only social conventions preventing two men having a relationship. Kjartan and Lini faced death just for being gay—even from their friends and family who wanted to make their ‘dishonourable’ behaviour disappear. This is Dark Age Britain, a society with no human rights declaration, no police force to turn to or even sanctuary to be found at the church.
In those days, everyone had to marry and produce children. Otherwise they would condemn their society to a slow death due to lack of younger people growing up to take over the running of things. So whatever a man’s preferences, he had to marry a woman. If he fell in love with another man, they would have to sneak around behind their wives’ backs—fit in with society or die. My characters are brave to even try having a relationship in the time and place they live.
But the heart wants what it wants.
Kjartan the Gentle is the third book in my trilo…

Fixing What's Bent (Pickleville #3) Coming April 15th

I'm so excited for you to read this story. I love these two characters and had a great time writing about them.

This is coming your way April 15th. You can find it and all my other books here-Extasy Book Author Page. If you haven't read books 1 & 2 then what are you waiting for.

Moving to a small town isn’t the peaceful experience Andrew Martinez hoped it would be.
Andrew Martinez needed a change. He was sure he’d lose his mind if he didn’t get out of the city. Between living with his mother and sisters, and the stress of his job, he needed a slower pace. The day he moves to small town Pickleville, he meets the prettiest man he’s ever seen. Andrew doesn’t do long term relationships, though.
Kyler and Andrew have one night together and Andrew sneaks away in the middle of the night. The only problem is, for once in Andrew’s life, one night isn’t enough. When a serial rapist starts hurting women, Andrew’s life gets even more complicated than if he’d stayed in the city. S…

Bronwyn's Interlude

Drawing a Blank

Presently I am sitting here, not only drawing a blank on what to write for this post but also on one of my stories that I’ve got to get written by the end of the month (and yes it’s a DRitC 2015) but I have nothing.

Just nothing.

I wish I was the type of person that could just pump out book after book, like April can. Did you know that she’s written more books in this one year than I have over two?! But I can’t, I hit road blocks, that gives me a flat while pissing down with rain and my spare just happens to be strapped to the bottom of my car, and because of my luck, oh look stopped over a puddle.

They sometimes seem like they take forever to get over, and I’m not exaggerating. The last block lasted 6 months before I finally pulled my shit outta my arse and started writing, though it wasn’t until the last week of last year that I actually got real excited about what I was writing.

I have this problem of absolutely hating writing. Oh, I love building the story up. I love…

Man of Pickleville- Andrew Martinez

Andrew Martinez has been a homicide detective in Chicago for several years. He's lived with his mother far longer than any grown man should. Feeling a little trapped by his demanding job and family, he makes a bold decision and moves to the small town of Pickleville, taking the Chief of Police job.

He met Jaron McAllister-Heath several years ago when the mother to Jaron's son gets murder. Staying in touch through-out the years, the two men become close friends. He meets Kyler at a party and sparks fly.

Bronwyn's Interlude

Thank you so much, Bronwyn Heeley for guest post today, and every Friday! Moonlit Wolves series as a Whole Today is the start of a weekly blog switch April and I are going to be doing, which means, she’s got a post over on my blog as I post over here. Today April thought that maybe you guys would like to know about the Moonlit Wolves series. I’m hoping I’m able to give you the answers you’re looking for. Moonlit Wolves series is about werewolves. The first arc featuring a group of werewolves created because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and all connected through growing up together and family drama. The arc is about them learning the greater meaning of what it means to be werewolves when they are suddenly hunted by well, Hunters. The biggest problem I have with the series is that after writing the first 4 I completely changed the series. It was originally going to just be open, a continuations of books un…
